Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The teacher asks 'Do you know airb&b? Ss answer Yes/ No 'Would you swapyour house withsomeone from France? Why/ Why not? Ss explain their reasons.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

The teacher puts up a banner saying 'Would you like my house for the holidays?' and a sticks a photo of a house on the White board. Ss guess the answers for these questions 'Is it a big/ small house? How many bedrooms are there?, Is there a pool? Does it have a garden? The teacher hands out the same questions 'Is it a big/ small house? How many bedrooms are there?, Is there a pool? Does it have a garden? to the students. The teacher tells students to listen and answer the questions individually after first reading. The teacher tells students to write down the important words and starts reading for second time. The teacher asks students to sit in 3-4 students together. Students share their ideas. The teacher nominates a secretary in each group and give them a blank piece of paper to write a complete paragraph about what they heard. After ss finish, the teacher gives them the real context for ss to compare and peer check.

Useful Language (3-5 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

The teacherasks 'would you like my house for the holidays?' what does it mean? If the ss know the answer they elicit the answer. Teacher writes CCQs on the wb. 'Do you want my house for the holidays?' Then teacher writes the Form: Would + you + like…….. Would +subject + like (ss elicit this part) Pronunciation: The teacher asks where the link is in 'Would you like' (ss elicit the answer) The teacher asks where stresses are on Would you like' Appropriacy: The teacher asks if Would you like…? is formal/polite and if Do you want…? is formal or polite

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Teacher gives picture of different houses to the ss. Ss write eight sentences with the words on page 32. Students stand up and walk around the classroom. Ss describe their houses/ flats to each other. Ss speak at least three students. Ss decide which house they like the most and which house they want to swap theirs. After they swap their houses the teacher asks to couple students why they swap their houses/ flats. Ss tell their reasons.

Feedback and Error Correction (3-5 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

The teacher monitors through the stages. Ss will be corrected upon their mistakes about production and use of language.There might be some wrong pronunciations on Would you like.
