Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-T writes "At home" and "At work" on the board and asks Ss to look at the photos and asks if they are at home or at work

Exposure (2-3 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

-T reads the task aloud -Ss listen and read -T asks if the people in the pictures are saying hello or goodbye

Highlighting (3-5 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

-T asks Ss to repeat the conversations in pairs

Clarification (2-3 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

-T shows some pictures of people waving and shaking hands and etc. and asks Ss in which situation they are used

Controlled Practice (4-6 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

-T asks a S to read the expressions in exercise B aloud -T reads the instructions aloud -Ss do the exercise -T plays the audio and Ss check their answers -T asks pairs of Ss to read the conversations aloud

Semi-Controlled Practice (4-5 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

-T reads exercise C aloud -T asks Ss to check their answers -T asks Ss to close their books and say as many hellos and goodbyes as they can -T writes them on board

Free Practice (6-8 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

-T asks Ss to say hello and goodbye to 4-5 other Ss in the class
