to teach lexical items with "look" in the context of fashion
to practice listening for gist and detail in the context of fashion
Procedure (35-49 minutes)
T starts the class by showing the picture of himself at the Turkish barbershop. T will ask students to predict what was the main aim of the person to go to the hairdresser salon. After that T will introduce the game "Agree/Disagree". Five statements related to the topic will be shown on the slide. St needs to choose one viewpoint and discuss it among each other.
T gives HO with listening exercise 1. Students pair check and then check whole class.
T will inform students that they will listen to the track again, but this time more closely. T will explain the Task by showing the HO. Students write the answers of the questions and check it with each other.
T will show the questions on the slide and ask them to discuss in pairs.
T will introduce new vocabulary task. The task has expressions with the word look. S should find the two meaning of the look. (a) appearance (b) eye movement then check it with each other. To check the whole class T will show correct answers then clarify meanings with CCQ.
T provides instructions for the task before distributing HO. Students individually complete the sentences with a word in the box. T project the answer key on the board.
T explain the task from Vocabulary ex. 2 and give HO. Students work in pairs and check the answer.
