Description

In this lesson SS will start to know about present simple by introducing the grammar and solving some exercises about the present simple. and after aims are completed the SS will practice on speaking fluency.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The T will start the lesson by saying: "I normally eat breakfast at 10:00 o'clock" and write it on the board and asks someone from the SS: "What about you when do you eat breakfast?" And then then the T write the S answer on the board for example: "Ahmed eats breakfast at 9:00 o'clock." Than the T says: "I wake up normally at 8:00 o'clock" and write it on the board and asks another S what about you and then the T writes the S answer on the board too.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

The T gives 2 texts to the SS and he says to the SS: "I want you to read the 2 texts that I'm going to give you now and after reading it I want you to tell me what is the difference between the verb in text A and text B."

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

After the SS finished from the exercise the T will ask the SS: "Why the verbs in text A are different from text B do?" The T will start to explain why there is a different between the verbs in text A and text B on the board.

Pre-practiced (8-10 minutes) • To make sure that the SS understand what has been done in the previous stages

The T asks 1 S to come to the board and asks him: "When do you think Ahmed eats dinner normally?" and the S will write his answer on the board. and then the T will asks another S to do the same thing one more time. The T continue this process with 3 or 4 different S. And then the T will make a drilling with WC to make sure that all the SS are pronouncing in the right way.

Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

The T will give the SS ex.6 P.139 after the SS finish the ex.6 the T will tell the S to check their answers with their partners.

Pronunciation (8-10 minutes) • To teach the SS pronunciation

The T will do ex.1 in pronunciation part and play the track 1.47 and then after finishing the T will do ex.2 in the pronunciation part the T will draw a table and then he will play the track 1.48 and the T asks the SS to listen and add the words in the correct place.
