Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Teacher will have an open discussion on what they have learnt from their previous lesson with Ayse. They learnt about Gina Macy, fashion model. Then the students will talk about what they know about her and her favorite things.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Teacher will elicit and introduce the target words for pronouns and possessives: me,him my,his using her personal photos. Pic.1 - ME training (This is ME) Pic.2 - MY car (This is MY car) Pic. 3 - MY sister (This is MY sister) Pic. 4 - My sister's baby (This is HER baby) Pic.5 - My nephew (I love HIM) Pic.6 - Me+my sister ( Both of US love cycling) Pic.7 - My sister and her baby (THEY live in Russia) Pic 8. - Dog Picture (The dog eats ITS food) Pic.9 - Picture of a girl going to her class. (Gizem,I saw YOU going to YOUR course)

Highlighting (4-8 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

After Ss elicit the pronouns, Ss will be giving a handout to complete ex.6. Teacher will give the Ss a few minutes to complete the chart. While Ss are completing the chart, teacher draws same chart on the board and after Ss complete the chart on the paper, teacher will call students one by one to come to the board and complete the chart.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Teacher will ask Ss to complete the sentences from ex.7 with me, you, him, her, it, us, them. Teacher will give Ss a couple of minutes to complete the sentences. Ss work on the exercise by themselves and then are put into pairs to check their work. To make Ss understand the difference between pronoun and possessives, teacher will give a few drills This is ME This is MY CAR This is MY NEPHEW. I love HIM. MY NEPHEW is HER SON. This is a dog.The dog eats ITS FOOD. MY NEIGHBOURS are so loud. listen to THEM. After that, SS will be moving to ex.8. In this ex. they will have to complete the sentences with my, your, his, hers, its, our, their. Teacher will give students a couple of minutes to complete the sentences solo and then will be put into pairs again to check their work.

Controlled Practice (5-8 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

After finishing ex 6-8, Ss will be doing ex. 2. named 'What do you like?''' which is a speaking exercise. In this next exercise, Teacher will put the pictures with the words written below on the board (football, cats, television, ice cream, chips, dogs, mobile, phones, Google, pop music and your neighbours). After that, the teacher will call a student to come up and demo the speaking exercise with her. e.g. Teacher: ''Gizem, do you like football?'' Gizem: ''No, I don't like it.'' Teacher: "Faruk, do you like pop music?" Faruk: "Yes, I like it".Now the Ss will be put into pairs and will have to do the same speaking exercise as the one the Teacher demonstrated by asking and answering each others questions..

Semi-Controlled Practice (4-5 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

After Ss finish with their speaking activity, Teacher will ask any pair to come up and share with the class what they learned about their partner.
