Description

In this lesson, students will learn about the free time activities. Then, practicing listening to answer various questions. Next, They will learn the interrogative form of the present simple. Finally, they will produce general yes or no questions asking and answering one another about their free time activities.

Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • Having students speak about the free time activities

T asks Sts about the activities anyone can do at the weekend. Sts can work in pairs to discuss the different activities.T displays some pictures and names of various activities.

Pre-Listening (3-5 minutes) • To discuss both a picture and some pre-question to make sure Sts understand the task.

T shows Sts a picture of two people and asks students about the relationship between them. Then T displays some pre-questions and have individuals read them. T makes sure Sts understands the questions.

While-Listening (5-7 minutes) • To provide Sts with a gist task in order to get the general idea of the audio content.

T plays the audio once it is clear Sts are ready and focused. Sts check their answers together.

Post-Listening (7-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to discuss the content of the listening text.

To have students answer the different question especially T or F questions. To ask further questions to check Sts's understanding to the listening text.

Yes or no questions in the present simple. (7-10 minutes) • To have students ask and answer yes or no questions correctly

T explains the form of the yes or no questions. T prompts Sts to form in pairs more yes or no questions. T displays an exercise on the board and Sts work in pairs to answer it. Sts check their answers together.

Speaking in the context of daily routine (5-8 minutes) • To develop the speaking skill using yes or no questions.

T prepares a free time activity exercise. Sts can mingle together in pairs and ask and answer each other yes or no questions about their free time activities.
