Procedure

Introduction (110 minutes) • To create rapport and confidence

1. Introduce myself - work experience - personal 2. Ask students to introduce themselves + what they do Questions: how long have you been with the bank? How long have you been in Khartoum / Sudan? What are your work aspirations? What are your personal dreams? 3. So many of you have travelled extensively ... many flags represented in the classroom - now we are going to create your own individual flags. It must contain your name + minimum 3 priorities / interests - use your imagination to design your flag. 4. Course materials : Distribute course books Run through the units Discuss limited homework Individual sessions 5 December Assessment after every 6 units - 8 December 5. Needs analysis questionnaire - I need to know each of your strengths and weaknesses - please help me to help you by completing this short 12 question questionnaire. BREAK House Rules: INTERACTIVE CLASS ROOM!!!! a. Teacher can only facilitate - learner must take responsibility for learning b. English only c. Please be punctual - I will start at 5.03 regardless and by 5.20 please do not enter. d. Phone etiquette - on silent, or tell me if you are expecting an important call e. How has banking changed generally internationally? How do you see banking in 2020?

Test #1 (10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

Teach (15 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

First PW to check and discuss Then go through vocab list - elicit explanations

Test #2 (10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test
