Procedure (107-120 minutes)
Label four corners: Strongly Agree Agree Disagree Strongly Disagree Read statements like: -Online classes are better than in-person classes. -Coffee is essential in the morning. -Working alone is better than teamwork. -Deadlines are motivating. -Technology makes life easier.
Vocabulary recent update, previous case, long-term project, milestone, early stage, final outcome, short-term objective, recent feedback, past assignment, documented case -Present briefly with examples. -Students create one original sentence each. -Reformulate only for clarity.
Explain the difference between present perfect and past simple. Use past simple when the time is clear or finished. Use present perfect when the exact time is not important or not given. Talking about life experience, recent actions, or unfinished time periods Put some examples. Write side by side: -I worked in a clinic in 2022. -I have worked in a clinic. Ask: -What is different? Ask for examples. The teacher highlights common errors and clarifies the correct structure.
Provide a worksheet with different activities. Students choose the correct tense based on time markers or meaning. Make then choose the tense according to the context of the sentence. Show the contrast between the two tenses. Check the answers together.
Teacher says: "Last year..." Students must respond in Past Simple. Teacher says: "This year..." Students respond in Present Perfect. Preview Thursday: "Tomorrow we'll talk about actions that started in the past and are still continuing."
