Procedure (37-43 minutes)
Slide1 We are going to talk about games today! Especially games for education or developing skills. - have any of us played games as such before? Whether for school or work? Have students share with each other: - describe a game they played before because of school - did they like it? - would they play it again? no open-class discussion
Slide2 Audio: 1st Listen 2minutes Then discuss the following questions with a partner in breakout rooms (2minutes) - What is the attitude for the majority of the players? - What is your attitude about educational games? Feedback on what I heard in the breakout rooms Slide3 First, call on students to see if they can fill in the gaps on the slide by thought. Audio 2nd Listen 2minutes + GoogleForm (with multiple-choice gap-fill) - Have students work INDIVIDUALLY to fill in the blanks (2minutes) - Collaborate and share/confirm answers (2minutes) - monitor and note incorrect answers (SOONER - has nothing to do with time) What did we notice? What do the answers have in common? Which word do they all have?
Slide4 - Meaning 4 Recycled example sentences. - call on students to match the meanings of each "would" to the sentences. - drag and drop the letters! - reveal the 5th slide with correct answers. Slide6 CCQs Slide7 - Form Go over with students the formulaic sentence structure - use typing text boxes - green text Slide8 - more Form - ask students how to contract the example sentences with "would" Slide9 - Pronunciation Go over with students sentence stress and rising/falling intonation - use dots and arrows - linking sounds
