TP 5 Speaking
Advanced level

Description

This lesson focuses on developing learners’ speaking fluency through discussing changes in towns and cities. Students are first introduced to the topic through a short lead-in and a listening activity, which provides a natural model of how speakers talk about change. Learners are then given useful functional language to support their speaking. The main focus of the lesson is a pairwork speaking task in which students talk about a town or city that has changed, first with one partner and then with another, allowing them to repeat the task and improve fluency. The lesson ends with content and language feedback based on the teacher’s monitoring.
