Description

In this lesson students will get the chance to produce the TL they have been introduced to in the previous lessons in the form of speaking and writing.

  • To provide detailed reading practice using a text about Likes and dislikes in the context of Fruits

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will recap the vocab the students studied at the beginning of the lesson. Apples,oranges,bananas,grapes,pineapples,strawberries,lemons,melons. Will hang pictures on WB and start to elicit the names of fruits. Take off the pictures then play a guessing game with the class about which picture I'm holding behind my back.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

T will fold handouts work on the upper part with I like bananas, I like strawberries, I don't like melons,I don't like lemons, I like grapes,I like apples,I like pineapples,as a guideline to an activity that checks if they can differentiate between i like and don't like,each student gets a chart with likes and don't and some fruits to stick on chart. When they are done they hang it on the wall. CCQs : Write on board, I don't like or I not like ? I like apples or I like apples. Mark the right one and cross the other. Then ask students to unfold page and start making a sentence as upon the words given as gap fill task.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

T will give handout like a questionnaire,with the student's name on top,and another 8 empty lines to fill with other students' names and ask them "do you like bananas etc. Students will move around the class asking each other if they like a certain fruit.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Will divide class into 2 groups in a circle with questions, do you like bananas ? etc and ask them to move around then switch the circle,outside becomes inside and vise versa.
