To provide gist, detailed and deduction listening practice using a text about Food in the context of Breakfast
Subsidiary Aims

To practice vocabulary related to food, cooking states, and quality (e.g. undercooked, burnt, mouldy, misshapen). • To improve speaking fluency through picture-based description and opinion-giving.
Procedure (18-15 minutes)
Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • Get students interested and prepare them for topic
Ask them questions in pair works
Pre listening (4-5 minutes) • Active background knowledge,pre teach essential lexis
Use a practice to teach vocabulary Focus on pronunciation and meaning Use repetition Provide CCQs
First listening (gist) (3 minutes) • Listen for main idea without worrying about details
Ask questions What were they talking about? What did the girl want?
Second listening(detailed task) (4 minutes) • Listen for specific information
Give them the questions Skim them and under line key words Then listen and answer
Free production (4-5 minutes) • Extend the topic into speaking
Provide the picture and cards And ask them to use the topic and linking words in order to make conversations
