In this lesson, the students will learn how to write a narrative about a trap they had before using linking words.

Main Aims

  • To learn how to narrate a journey or trip they had before using linking words.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To practice reading a narration about a journey to Australia.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-T Shows Ss pictures of different means of traveling(Plane/, train/cars.. etc). -T asks Ss to answer these questions together:

Exposure/reading (4-6 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

- T says: " Let's read about Jack's first trip to Australia. Read and answer these questions - Alone in 2 min - T asks Ss to check the answers together in 2 min.

Genre analysis (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language and ideas for coming productive tasks

T says: (Now, let's learn more about linking words) and shows them these questions: T says:(Alone in 2 min,answer these questions Ss check the answers together in 2 min T shows Ss the answers. T starts eliciting genre analysis:(Content ,organization, layout, Style ,language and function)

Productive Task(s) (12-18 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

-T will smoothly jump to the writing task after the analysis."So, since we knew how to narrate a trip we had. Let's practice what we learnt." -T will tell the students the instructions to the students: 1- Think about the first time you went on a long journey, and make notes using these questions and sentences: 2-write 80-100 words describing this journey on this link. (8 mins)

Feedback and Error Correction (5-8 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

T says: Check your partners' work and think of the following: Checklist: Was the narrative clear? Did they cover the content? Was the content organized? Was their style suitable? Did they use the linking words?
