  • Vocabularies and a sentence will be introduced to the SS in the context of tourism information. Then they will practice them through drilling, doing exercises and producing the TL.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I am going to show some pictures on the WB as FB to the SS in the context of tourism information. Then, I am going to ask them to share their ideas about those pictures to the WC. Then, I am going to ask them elicit questions like: Why we use passport? Why we use maps? The SS will see the pictures one by one. Then, I will ask them to say their names. I will mark each word's stress on the board. I will drill them with the SS. Then I will use CCQs to be sure the SS learned their meanings. Do you need passport to come to ITI? Do you buy tickets to go to the cinema? Do you always use maps to go somewhere? Do you usually read a guidebook in the evening? Do we watch movies with camera?

Listening (8-10 minutes) • Listening for gist

I am going to give them two questions on HO and show them three pictures on the WB. Firstly they have to listen to the three conversations (1-3) and match them with the pictures (a-c) (to say where are they happening). Then, the SS will check their answers with their peer. Then, the SS will be asked to tell me the correct answer in WC.

Listening (3-5 minutes) • Listening for specific information

The SS should listen to the audio again and choose the correct answer(ex 3b sentences 1-6). The SS will check their answers with their peer. In the end, the SS can have the answer key on the WB.

Pre-stage (3-5 minutes) • listening for detailed information

The SS will be asked to divide into groups. They will be asked to look the pictures while some words are on the WB and talk about them with their partners in their groups.

Listening (8-10 minutes) • listening for detailed information

The SS are going to listen to the conversations again to fill in the gaps with some words and a sentence from the listening task. Then they are going to check their answers with their peer. Then they will tell the answers in WC. I will write the words and the sentence on the WB to mark the stress and do drilling.

Speaking (8-10 minutes) • Fluency

The SS will be asked to get into pairs in order to talk about their favourite places with each other. Then, I will ask students to talk about their partners favourite place to the WC. In this stage, the SS are not going to be corrected by me while speaking.
