Description

This lesson consolidates the main grammar points covered in Week 3, including future forms (will and going to), possessive adjectives and pronouns, and subject and object pronouns. Through extended communicative review activities and focused accuracy practice, students reinforce their understanding before completing the weekly mini test. Main Aims

  • Review, consolidate and assess Week 3 grammar topics.

Subsidiary Aims

  • Assess student progress through the weekly mini test.
  • Identify common difficulties to address in future lessons.
  • Improve accuracy and confidence before assessment.

Procedure

Activation (25-30 minutes) • Develop memory, observation, and spontaneous speaking; build group interaction and confidence in a relaxed context.

The teacher projects a busy picture (classroom, street, office, cafe, clinic, waiting room but no grammar focus). Students look silently for 45-60 seconds. Picture is hidden. Students write down as many things as they remember. No sentences required yet. Then ask students some questions related to the image they saw. The student who knows the answer, raise their hand and and answer. If the answer is correct, they win a point. Continue with the following picture. The student with most points, win.

Review (20-25 minutes) • Reinforce conceptual understanding of Week 2 grammar before accuracy work.

Teacher writes paired examples on the board and asks students to discuss their meaning and differences. Teacher briefly summarizes: Will vs going to: both common in daily English. Possessive adjective vs pronoun: noun vs no noun. Subject vs object pronouns: who does vs who receives.

Communicative Review (15-20 minutes) • Encourage natural use of grammar in semi-controlled communication.

Students work in pairs. Each pair receives 5 prompts, for example: A schedule change for tomorrow A personal decision at work Explaining who something belongs to Offering help to a colleague Talking about future plans Pairs must create 8-10 spoken sentences, using: will or going to possessives subject and object pronouns Teacher monitors and notes common errors for later feedback.

Weekly Test (35-40 minutes) • Assess student understanding of Week 2 grammar.

Teacher explains instructions clearly. Students complete the mini test individually and silently. Teacher collects papers for correction.

Cool Down (3-5 minutes) • Lower anxiety after the test and prepare students for the new tense.

Teacher thanks students and briefly previews: Tomorrow we'll start talking about the past.
