Procedure (48-63 minutes)
At first stage,I will show some photos related to injuries and pain to the students to engage them with the new topic.And ask them what is their opinion about them.Then,I will write pain on the board and elicit it's meaning.For exercise one,I will tell students:Ok,guys,look at the title of the text and tell me what do you think about it?then,I will ask one student to tell her idea.
After that,then for the exercise 2,I will ask students :Ok,now next,read the instructions and tell me what to do?I will ask one student to read the reading strategy part as a class and I will tell them to highlight the steps .My CCQ question is:1-should we understand every word or just a general idea?Then,I will tell them,now you have 3 minutes to read the text and check it with your friend and Then I ask from the class.
Then,for exercise 3,I will tell students:now exercise 3,what should we do?then I will emphasize with my fingers that there are two important tasks,one match the questions with pararaphs A-E and read the text and two of them are extra .Then,I will ask one student to read the first question for the class and students have 30 seconds to complete it.Then as they answer it,I will tell them that ,now do the rest of it in 5 minutes and check it with your friend.As they are completing, I will tell them that they have just 1 minute left.Finally,after they did it with their friend,I will ckeck it with whole class.
Now exercise 5,I will tell students:Ok guys,tell each other what did you find interesting about the text?Then students will change their pairs to discuss about it and I will tell them you have 3 minutes and then I will check it in class.Then,I will write this expression on the board and ask students when do we use it and write their examples on the board.The aim of this practice is to clarify that we often use this expression to give our opinion.
Then,I will tell them,now exercise 5,what should we do?then I will point out with my hands to complete the questions and take turns to ask and answer the questions in pairs while student is reading the exercise and I will tell them do it in 3 minutes.
Now exercise 6,read it and tell me what to do?I highlight it that we have 2 important tasks,one find the words related to injuries and accidents ,then,complete the exercise .Then,I will ask one student to read the first one and then I will tell them do the rest of it in 4 minutes.While they are completing,I will monitor them.For exercise 8,I will ask students do you remember the past simple rules ?and one strong student will explain briefly about the past lesson.Then,I will tell them,what should we do for exercise 7?then,I will ask one student to read the first one and the whole class will answer it,Then,I will tell,now you have 3 minutes to do the rest of it.
Then,for the last exercise which is 8,I will tell students:Ok,guys,when was the last time you hurt or injured yourself?now go to 8 and tell the rest to your partner .Then,after that,I will ask them to tell me about their experience.As an engagement students can do this exercise in groups .
