Procedure (16-24 minutes)
Stage Type: Review Time: 3 minutes Purpose: Activate students’ prior knowledge, engage them in talking about sports Procedure / Notes: Greet the students: "Hi everyone! Today we will talk about sports and the future." Ask: "If the weather is sunny tomorrow, what sports will you do?" Students type their answers in the chat. Write one or two answers on the whiteboard. Follow-up questions: "Is this about the past or the future?" / "Is it certain or possible?" Interaction: Teacher → Student / Student → Teacher Materials: Chat box, whiteboard, markers
Stage Type: Clarification Time: 5 minutes Purpose: Present and highlight the First Conditional structure with sports examples Procedure / Notes: Show the structure: "If + present simple, will + base verb" Examples with sports: "If it’s sunny tomorrow, I will go jogging." "I will play football if my friends come." Highlight key points: No "will" after if The order of clauses can change Ask CCQs: "What tense is after if?" → Present Simple "Do we use will after if?" → No Interaction: Teacher → Student Materials: Whiteboard, colored markers, icons for timeline (optional)
