Description
speaking lesson in which students practice talking about first and last experiences. The lesson focuses on developing fluency, accuracy, and confidence through guided and freer speaking activities.
Main Aims

To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of talking about first and last experiences using the past simple and appropriate functional language.
Subsidiary Aims

To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of help students organize ideas before speaking. To encourage students to use past simple verbs . To develop students’ ability to express feelings (ex: excited, scared, worried). To increase students’ confidence in speaking about personal experiences.
Procedure (47-55 minutes)
Lead-in (4-5 minutes) • activate background knowledge and engage students.
Teacher asks students about their first or last experiences and writes prompts on the board.
Model task Pre-speaking (7-8 minutes) • help students plan their ideas before speaking.
Students choose a first or last experience and answer guiding questions using notes.
Useful Language (9-10 minutes) • provide students with functional language for storytelling.
Teacher highlights useful phrases and models a short example.
Controlled Speaking Practice (preparation) (7-8 minutes) • practice speaking with support.
Students work in pairs and take turns telling their stories and asking questions.
Speaking task (12-15 minutes) • develop fluency and confidence.
Students tell their stories in small groups and discuss which story was the most interesting.
Content and language feedback (8-9 minutes) • provide content and language feedback.
T gives positive feedback and corrects common errors on the white board.
