In this lesson student is going to learn vocabulary on the topic 'housework' and practise Present Perfect which has been previously learnt, learn about usage of 'just', 'already', 'yet'

Main Aims

  • To introduce new vocabulary on the topic 'housework'.
  • To provide review on Present Perfect, learn the difference between using 'just', 'already', 'yet'.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To work on accuracy of using Present Perfect in speech.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (1-2 minutes) • To engage the student in the lesson

The student looks at the pictures and chooses the one that describes his mood better and describes why

Presentation & clarification (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text and pictures.

The student reads the text and guesses its title which is the topic of the today's lesson. Then the student looks at the words and listens to their pronunciation in order to get acquainted with them.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

The student matches the words and pictures, does follow-up exercises in order to practice the new vocabulary.

Semi-Controlled Practice (10-15 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

The student watches the video and chooses correct expressions from target vocabulary in order to describe the content of it. Then answers the questions about the topic of the lesson.

Grammar exposure (8-10 minutes) • To help students notice the target grammar in context.

The student read the dialogs with active vocabulary and Present Perfect forms, completes the dialogs with the missing verbs and pays attention to the highlighted words. Tries to clarify their meaning and completes the rule.

Semi-controlled practise and freer practise. (8-10 minutes)

The student matches the words and pictures. Then describes the picture with active vocabulary and grammar constructions.

Close-up (5-6 minutes)

The student ask and answers questions using active grammar.
