Procedure (29-41 minutes)
Show slide 2 of images of happy memories in different moments of a person’s life with the question: Look at the pictures. What words come to your mind when you see them? ICQ: Are these happy or sad memories?
For MFP, three words are chosen to match with the right sentence. Students will have two minutes to match ● ○ ○ ● Out of the blue --------------------------------------- The wedding proposal happened _____________. Students will have 2 minutes to read quickly and choose what researchers did to answer the question: Listen to the audio of a man talking about his special weekend and choose the statement that is NOT true. Speaking exercise: Students will be giving a short talk about one of the questions given about happy memories or regrets in life. Student A: Have you ever done anything you regret? You have to mention: What was that thing you regret? When did you do that action? Why do you regret it? What did you learn from that situation? Student B: What is the strongest memory of your childhood? You have to mention: What was it? When did it happen? Who was with you in that memory? What makes that memory so special for you? Student C: What’s the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you? You have to mention: What was it? When did that situation happen? Did you learn something about that situation? What was it? Students will have one minute to make notes in response to the questions. Once the minute is over, the teacher says: you will be speaking for two minutes so your partner should time you. When time’s up, the teacher monitors and writes examples of good language or errors on slides. Give feedback on their ideas, ask if there were any similarities or differences. Final DEC activity.
