  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of Contents of the living room

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will hang pictures on the board one for myself , THAT IS ME,then one for a house, "WRITE ON BOARD" I LIVE IN A HOUSE,then hang picture of a living room,"WRITE ON BOARD" IN MY HOUSE THERE'S A LIVING ROOM. Try to elicit some of the vocab words inside the living room,help if they don't know, TABLE,CARPET,VASE,TV,LAMP,SOFA,WINDOW,CHAIR. Then start drilling THERE'S,THERE ARE. using the words and the picture. WRITE THE WORDS ON BOARD. DRAW 2 COLUMNS ON BOARD FOR THERE'S AND THERE ARE.

Exercise (3-5 minutes) • To drill further about the names of items in the living room

I will give handout with there's and there are while they stick the pictures underneath each one of the vocab , whether there's a or there are ,depending on the count on the picture. Then,hang on the WB.

Drilling prepositions (5-10 minutes) • To clarify the different use of prepositions

Will go back to the picture of the living room and state the use of the following prepositions , on,under,next to and in. Will ask a couple of students to help me to act Realia for the prepositions .

Exercise (2-5 minutes) • To drill the use of prepositions

Will give handouts for multiple choice to practice prepositions using the first picture.

Reading for accuracy (10-15 minutes) • To drill further the use of there's and there are,prepostions

Will give 2 different pictures of a living room to the students that include different items, will ask each student to share with another and speak about their own pictures,using there's and there are.
