Description

In this lesson students are going to learn how to use present simple tense to talk about the things they do through PPP in the context of daily routines and facts. The lesson starts with a talk about the the usual habits. It is followed by a discussion about students' best routines with a focus on accuracy.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The class will be started by a talk about the way I repeat some habits everyday. It will be followed by asking students to tell the class about their own.

Highlighting (2-3 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

I will choose 2 of my students sentences to write in the correct present simple form on the board to draw their attention to the verb that I have used.

Clarification (7-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I will draw a timeline on the board and ask some CCQs: Do I it only today? Do I do it every day? Is it a habit or something special? Is it happening now? Do I use it for my routine or for this moment? How often do I do it? Does it change? I will elicit the structure from the students by asking about the role of the words and the way I have changed the verbs. sub + verb (present simple form). I will let them know about the added "s" and "es" for he, she and it plus the question form.

Controlled Practice (2-3 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Students are going to do gap filling task on page 100 in the grammar bank in 4 minutes individually.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Students ask each other 3 questions about their routines, then share.
