Description

In this lesson,Ss will learn some vocabulary related to the types of school,and Ss will listen to the recording to improve their receptive skill and at the end of the lesson Ss will have opportuniy to discuss and speak about schools in their country.

Main Aims

  • To teach vocabulary in the context of school

  • To provide the Ss with the chance to speak and produce the target language

Procedure

Stage-1 Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set the context of the lesson

- Ask Ss to answer the guestion as a whole class When we start our education Where do we go first? - Show some pictures of different schools for Ss and ask Ss to answer these questions What are they? What kind of schoos are they? - Elicit the answers from the Ss and write them on the WB

Stage-2 Pre-Listening (4-5 minutes) • To prepare Ss for the audio

- Before the listening, I try to explain some vocab on the WB and follow the MFP - to found (v) - institution (n) - Distance learning (n) - Use CCQs

Stage-3 While Listening (5-10 minutes) • To provide Ss with a challenging listening task

- Ask Ss to follow the instructions while grouping them according to the number 1,2,3,4 - Ask Ss to find their partners by numbers. - Show SS how to complete the first example by myself and then ask them to listen to the recording then to complete the rest of it, Ex 1-2 - Ask Ss to compare with their partners - Elicit the answers from pairs

Stage-4 (3-5 minutes) • To Provide the Ss to improve their receptive skills

- Explain Ss what to do with the HOs and ask Ss to look at the different types of schools on the HOs. Vocab Ex.1 (pg-70) -Ask Ss to put the schools in the order you go to /attend them individually and then ask Ss to compare their answers with partners who have the same coloured papers with them - Elicit the answers from students as a pair - -

Stage-5 (2-3 minutes) • To enable Ss to practice with new vocabulary

- Group Ss to get into pairs by giving them different coloured HOs and ask Ss to match the places with the descriptions. -Ask Ss to compare the answers with your partners - Elicit the answers from Ss

Stage-6 Practice (3-5 minutes) • to provide SS to practice their knowledge about vocabulary of schools

- Ask Ss to work individually to do the task - Ask Ss to complete the table with the schools in the box and tell Ss that there are two schools they don`t nee to use -After that ask Ss to compare their answers with partners -Elicit the answers from each pair

Stage-7 (5-10 minutes) • To give Ss the chance to produce sentences with new vocab

- Tell Ss to try to answer the questions individually and then ask Ss to discuss the questions with their partners -If the time allows,I will give them extra task.
