Procedure (31-41 minutes)
T writes the question on board: “Where do you feel most relaxed?” T elicits short oral responses (e.g., beach, park, city) from students. AI: None ICQs: “Are we writing yet?” → No. “Are we just saying a place?” → Yes.
T displays model paragraph about Istanbul (same as in slide) without conclusion sentence. Students read silently. T elicits what’s missing. “Is this paragraph finished?” “What’s missing?” AI: None ICQs: “Are we reading or writing now?” → Reading. CCQs: “Does the paragraph have a topic sentence?” “Does it talk about what Istanbul is like?” “Does it have a final sentence?”
T presents slide: A good conclusion sentence can: ✅ Show your final opinion ✅ Describe how the place makes you feel ✅ Say why you love it T gives simple oral examples: “Istanbul is a city I will never forget.” “That’s why I love Istanbul.” T asks students to say which ones feel like endings. AI: None ICQs: “Are we writing now?” → No. “Are we checking examples?” → Yes.Procedure: T provides 6 jumbled sentences (already created): Students reorder them to make proper conclusion sentences. A summary?” : AI: Yes – Prompt 1 ICQs: “Do you copy this prompt?” → Yes. “Do you write your own sentence now?” → No.T shares this AI prompt with class: 🧠 Prompt: “Generate 6 different conclusion sentence templates for beginner to lower-intermediate English learners (A2–B1). Each template should help students finish a paragraph about a place, such as a city, town, or tourist destination. Write the templates in a fill-in-the-blank format.” Students choose 1 template and complete it for their own city/place. AI: Yes – Prompt 2
Students write a conclusion sentence about a place they know. Then they paste it into ChatGPT with this prompt: 🧠 Prompt: “I wrote a conclusion sentence for a paragraph about a place.
