The teacher asks if the sts know who Christian Bale is? Then students read the text on page 44 "When will I be famous" and asnwer the following questions (1c on p.44) questions: 1. What problems did Christian Bale have? 2. How does he feel about his success now? The sts find the answer and then they discuss with their partner. Then the T shows the answer key.
The teacher uses a PPT and shows sample sentneces including the target words to the sts. She asks them questions to elicit the menaing of these words. She focuses on pronunciation and asks CCQs.
She asks sts to read the text and and choose the correct answer (they need to choose the correct target word). After that they compare their asnwers with their partner's. Then the T shows the asnwer key. After that sts go to word wall and they put each target word in the correct category as noun/adj/verb.
Students complete sentences (Exercise f) using the correct vocabulary form. Then they pair-check answers. After that the T shares the asnwer key.
Students discuss the following questions in pairs: 1. What do you need to be successful in life? 2. What are your biggest achievements so far? 3. Who do you know that is very talented or ambitious? After that they sahre their ideas in groups of four. Then, they post one summary sentence on Padlet. Teacher highlights great sentences from Padlet and corrects errors positively.
