In this lesson, the students are going to learn about the present continuous. At the end, they will be able to use the present continuous in daily conversations.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

i wilstart by saying things that is happening in the world at the moment.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

I will ask my students to think of something that is happening at the moment.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

i will write some of those sentences on the board.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

We are studying. I will draw a timeline. CCQs: What is the role of "we"? What comes after the subject? Verb. Does it happen in the past, present, or future? Base form verb+ing. We use the present continuous for things that are happening right now or things that are still happening. What is the question form? What is the negative form? What is the difference between (I study) and (I am studying)? In what situations do we use each of these?

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice
