To provide gist reading practice using a text about a man who disappeared in the context of an unsolved mystery

To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of a mysterious event
Procedure (37-51 minutes)
I will start by describing some past photos I have on my phone. Then, I will show students a picture of Titanic. I will ask everyone if they recognize the ship. Later, I will ask them "What happened with Titanic?" Are you sure that happened? Some ss will answer the question.
I will ask Ss to look at the text about Dan Cooper Then, I will ask them to look at the title and the pictures. Later, I will ask them "What do you think happened?" and tell them to reply in the chat Ss will write their ideas and I will read some of them out loud.
I will ask Ss to find sentences with: might + have can't + have must + have Ss will go over the text and highlight the sentences. I will ask Ss to share their findings to the whole class
