Description

In this lesson, students will learn how to use grammar and new words in speaking and talk about some topics with their partners.

  • To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a Conversation and group discussion, for receiving some ideas and knowledge about cities.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

In this part starts with, the teacher who shows some pictures about its city, and asks students some questions about those pictures, for example, where is it? or what do you see in the picture? then students answer those.

Exposure (5-8 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

For this part, the teacher uses some ways, for example, a short story as a reading or a track as a listening, and a simple conversation are used by the teacher in order to give students some factors of speaking, such as getting ideas, knowing the structure of speaking, for answering in correct way. The teacher do the sample, then wants students to practice.

Useful Language (5-8 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

This part starts with some useful and practical expressions which are given by the teacher, actually they are written on the board that students can use them in their speaking. Then, they work with their partner. For example, this city has the most important.......

Productive Task(s) (5-8 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

The teacher groups students, then wants students to speak about the topic with their own sentences and share them in the group. The teacher writes the topic or question on the board, and gives them feedback.

Feedback and Error Correction (4-8 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

The teacher can write some mistakes on the board after speaking part, so wants students to correct them, and, their right sentences will be on the board for a while.
