To develop spoken fluency in the context of the festivals
Procedure (34-49 minutes)
-To start my lesson by asking how Ss are -To focus Ss on the pictures given and ask them to look at the pictures and answer the questions. -Ask ICQ`s such as - What do you have to do ? -Are you going to read or look at the pictures?
1a-Ss will look at the four photos and titles -Ask Ss to be pairs to the this task. -Ask Ss to answer the questions. -Elicit answers and ideas from Ss 1b -Ss will read the question first and read the text quickly. - Ask Ss Where and when each festival take place -Check the answers as a whole class. 2a -Give Ss time to discuss in pairs which festival they think those customs are associated with.
2b - Give Ss time to read the text in detail - Ask Ss to discuss the guestion in pairs -Ask them what other customs and facts they learned about each festival
Ex.4 - To explain that guessing meaning from context will help Ss increase their reading pace.It is always necessary to be 100% correct. -To give Ss enough time to guess the meaning of the words and phrases form the context -ask Ss to choose the correct definition.
Ex.4 - To give Ss time to discuss the questions in small groups - To ask Ss to exchange their ideas with other group by standing up and walking around the groups` tables. -Ask Ss to tell the class Which food they would like to try randomly for a few Ss.
