Description

The lesson 's aim is to teach the students how to make and offer suggestions as well as to give them the opportunity to practice and use the functonal language through the listening.speaking and the writing skills.

Procedure

Warmer/lead in (3-5 minutes) • To generate interset in the topic

T reminds Ss about about the theme they have tackled in the previous session"special days" through the use of ICQs . T stimulates the Ss's attention by putting a picture of Tanya and her husband Simon; they are standing in a kitchen and having a conversation. Ss look at the picture and tink about it

Gist reading (2-3 minutes) • To establish the context of the lesson

T shows the text of the conversation related to the previous picturse(gap-fill dailogue) then aks the students to read quickly the dailogue and find out the context oft he dailogue. Ss will try to find out about the topic of the conversation. Ss share the possible answers with the teacher

Controlled activity/ listening skill (3-6 minutes) • listening for information

T tells the students that will be working individually to fill in the gaps of the listening's conversation.T plays on the audio. T monitors the students while they are completing the task.T asks students to check their answers with the student sitting next to them. Ss responds to the questions. T handouts the answer key to the students then discusses the answsers with them.

Calrification ofthe targeted language (2-7 minutes) • To analyse the targeted language and to set examples.

T shows again the audio's tapescript on the board and extracts one model sentence related to suggestions. T clarifies the meaning of the sentence, to the students.T calrifies the pronounciation so learners can say it: model sentence "what should we get for him?. Then T calrify the form so that the learners will be able to construct it.

Targted language prcatice (2-6 minutes) • To provide students with the practice of the target language

T gives refers to the table p127(student's book) to highlight the different forms of suggestions and its usses.T will draw three columns on the board.The 1st one named asking for suggestions,the 2nd one making suggestions the 3rd one responding to suggestions. T instructs the students that they will be working in groups in the next activity activity.T uses the ICQs to check student's understanding then he sets out the activity..Each group will have different sentences in a piece of paper.Ss have to read the sentences and the classify them corrsectly on the table drawn by the teacher on the board

Feedback about the previous task (2-3 minutes) • Task's correction

T checks the answers with the whole students.

Cotrolled pratice/fill in the gaps (2-4 minutes) • to pratice the targeted language in a given context

T instructs the Ss about the next task (worbook p18).Ss have to fill in the gaps in a given conversation.Later T gets the students to compare their answers with a partner.Later on T points to some students to write their answers on the board T discussesthe answetswith the whole class.

Freer practice(if time)Role plays/conversations (2-8 minutes) • The use of the different types of suggestions

The game is called phone conversation.Students wil be divided into a goups of three it depends on the number of students.Every group is going to act out a different situation(exp: go for a drink: they have to make/ask forsuggestion/respond for suggestion) then they will swap places and the conversations
