Description

In this lesson, the students will learn about adjectives. At the end of this lesson, the students will be able to use adjectives to describe things, situations, and people.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will start the lesson by describing my city. For example, my city is small, people are nice, it's beautiful and old.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

I will ask my students to describe the city where they were born.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

I will write the adjectives that they used on the board.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I will write this sentence on the board and ask these questions. It's a beautiful city. CCQs: (What is the role of the first word? Subject. What is beautiful here? Beautiful is an adjective that describes the city. Does it come before or after a noun? Before.) The computer isn't cheap. CCQs: (What is the role of the first word? subject. What comes after the subject? To be a verb. What comes after the verb is an adjective. It describes the computer. So it comes before a noun and after the verb. What is the question form? Is the computer cheap? So the place of the adjectives doesn't change in question form.) I like blue jeans. CCQs: (Are jeans singular or plural? Plural. Is it beautiful different for singular and plural nouns? No.)

They will do the exercises from the book.

I will ask them to describe their best friend.
