In this lesson students will practice on fluency of speaking in the content of office

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of the office party

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide review of language used for giving opinion, agreement, disagreement in the context of the office

Procedure

lead in (2-3 minutes) • to brainstorm ss knowledge of the functions

- start the lesson with some questions "does the company you work for do anything for their workers to work better?" "lets talk about what they do and what you want from them"

pre speaking (5-7 minutes) • to revise the functions and get ss ready for the task

-t shows the PPP and asks more questions; Have you ever been to an Office Party? Where was the party at? Did you like the place? Who was invited? Who do you think should be invited? Did you have fun? Who paid for the party? Has anything unusual happened? -t uses functions to ss answers like; " exactly, absolutely, I m not sure about that... Yes, but...." "What about, I think" - t gets ss focus on the functions DRILLS and writs them on the board.

speaking task (6-8 minutes) • to provide ss with role play

-show the second part of the slide and set the task -they have to imagine that they are working in an office and the company wants to organize a party for the staff. They will discuss and take a small notes about what their role play wants with using functions. - t tells ss that they will work as a group of four each person will have a role like boss, workaholic, lazy worker and the gossip - - they

speaking task (12-15 minutes) • to get them work as a group

- t puts them in their groups again with each group includes a boss, a gossip, a lazy worker, and a workaholic. - in their groups they will talk about what kind of party they decided and write it on a paper.

post speaking and feedback (10-13 minutes) • to have ss share what they have decided, compare the parties and give language feedback

- T hangs their parties and says; -Ohh this company will have a party in a cheaper place. Umm but this company will have a much more fun. -t ask ss to compare the parties as a pair. -t Walks around the class and notes the errors about the TL and than writes them on the board so ss can fix them
