Procedure (20-29 minutes)
In this stage I will talk about a cooking session that I used the incorrect amount of materials. . I will use the sentence structures that my students are already familiar with.
In this stage I will ask my students to tell the class about things they might have used the wrong or right amount
In this stage I will write some of the sentences that my students have made in the correct form on the board to draw their attention to the TL.
To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language I will clarify the meaning by drawing a timeline on the board and asking some CCQs; I added too much salt Did I use the right amount of salt? No. Did I need to add more? No Did I need to add less? Yes. The water I added was enough. Did I add the right amount of water? Yes. Did I need to add more? No Did I need to add less? No. . After that I will elicit the structure from the students to clarify how to form the sentences. subject + verb + too much + uncountable nouns subject + verb + too much subject + verb + too many + countable nouns subject + verb + too + adjective subject + verb + enough + nouns subject + verb + enough subject + verb + ...+ adjective\adverb + enough The negative and question form are mentioned in this stage. . The rise and fall of intonations are important and need to be worked on
To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice. The students are going to do exercise 5C on page 135 in the grammar bank in 4 minutes. They will have 2 minutes to check their answers in pairs and then we will check the answers with the whole class. Then we do practice 3b on page 43
I will ask my students to talk about their daily life and say how much of different kinds of food they eat on a daily basis with their group-mates.
