Description

In this lesson the students are going to learn about something,anything,nothing,etc... in the context of the story about my weekened.After this lesson the students might better be able to use these words in their sentences and speaking correctly.The lesson will be finished with a discussion task about the recent placeS they have visited.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of anything,nothing and something in the context of the story about my weekened

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of the story about my weekened

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

In this stage I will talk about what I did in my weekened. I will use something,anything,nothing etc... that my students will go familiar with it

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

In this stage I will show my written story I explained to us on the board and color the words something,anything,nothing,etc.... then I will ask them to organize the words in the same meaning in the table I have drawn before.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I will clarify the differences between no,some and any and the way we use it on the board and I will ask some CCQ : Do you use these words in positives or negatives? In the sentence " There is nothing in the box " is the meaning positive or negative? In the word something, do I know what it is? What is the main difference between nothing and anything? After that I clarify more with saying some examples about anything,nothing,something,etc... I add one key that we can also use any,anything,etc... with positive verbs to mean " it doesn't matter what what,who,etc."

Controlled Practice (2-3 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

The students are going to do exercise A number 1 to 4 on page 133 in grammer bank in 3 minutes.And then we will check the answer with students one by one

Free Practice (3-4 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Finally, I will ask the students to talk about the recent places they have visited and use something, nowhere, anybody,etc...
