In this lesson, students will review family words and lexis related to body parts, following a TTT structure

Main Aims

  • To provide review of family lexis in the context of the human body

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of describing the human body

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

WARM-UP 5 min Have students ask and answer the following set of questions:- "If you could have a superpower related to your body, what would it be and why?" - "Can you name three body parts that come in pairs?" - "Can you name three body parts that come in pairs?" Elicit one for them as an example. Recap the instructions

Test #1 (13-15 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

Refer in the presentation to the slide of a human body and elicit any words for body parts that students already know. Write 3 of them. A Work with a partner.Have students complete as many as they can, and review on a second round with a different partner

Teach (10-10 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

Have students go to slide 4, redirecting them to descriptions of the human body. Set expectations you describe with an adjective, then a noun, or per lexical set. Elicit examples of vocabulary.

Test #2 (10-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

Inform students that they will review an exercise in which they will need to complete the gaps. Elicit the first one with them. Have them work in pairs and check for questions

Free practice (13-14 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Have students practice describing, per the last slide conversation 3/4 of the time is practice. Check for errors and, when time ends, provide feedback. Recap the lesson
