Have students check slide 3 and ask for whole class. Elicit answer with help of student. On page 138, have students read the conversation and practice (twice)
1) Have students identify chunks that talk about health. 2) Elicit some answers. Redirect students to the language. Educating can also be a way to answer. Have them complete exercise D 138. Help students form new sentences with the structure, using different body parts. Educating can also be a way to answer. Have them complete exercise D 138.
You have plans to meet a friend, but you don’t feel well. Role-play with a partner (as in the book). Call your friend and explain the situation. Tell students to think about health problem and role-play a phone call. Elicit an answer, and roleplay with a student. Ensure instructions were understood. Tell them they can look back at the page as often as they need to if they forget a word, but they should always look up again while speaking. This technique will help them retain the new language. Demonstrate it for them, watch , and remind them until it becomes automatic Depending on space, you can have students sit back-to-back with their partner to simulate being on the telephone. As students are practicing, walk around, helping with vocabulary and expressions.
Highlight the 3 top errors in class. Redirect towards a fluency purpose. Ask a student objective of the class, and have them raise thumbs up or down.
