Description

In this class, ss gonna learn about locations of things through guided teaching. we first start with review about the words they learned from last session, check pronunciation and spelling with help of board and aids. then they gonna listen to a story about a doll, a pencil case and a block that I will change their places so they can use "between", "near" and "on the" in sentence. then i ask them to repeat the sentence with different placement as a drill. after that I will pair them to 3 different group, give them some picture, and ask them to write a sentence related to the picture on the board. after that I use that block, doll, pencil case and ask them to ask questions from one of their classmate about on of the object, the other one should answer change objects' places and ask another one a question.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of location lexis in the context of object placement

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of object placement

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-6 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

to talk about their room and where they put their stuff

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

I review the last session vocabulary, ask them for spelling and the correct pronunciation.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Using a doll as character and let them bond with it, then use it as teaching tool. ss should tell me "where it is?"

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

T show ask them about an object and want ss to use "between, on, near" to answer the question. than use a repeating drill.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

I give ss a bunch of words on the board and they should sort the sentence, read it out load, and place the objects in the required places.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

T pair the ss and give them a picture. SS describe any part of the picture they want using the vocabulary they learned.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

SS ask a questions from each other, "where is ......?" and the other one will answer. the question also can be "what is this between ...... and ......?"
