Description

In this lesson, I will SS will be introduced to a set of pictures to introduce the concept of formal vs. informal speaking for meeting people in different scenarios. After identifying four different places we will model different sets of people and formal vs. informal greetings.This will be followed by Listening exercise 1 and 2 with SS closed pair interaction. Organizing into S groups Language Focus exercise 1 will involve creating sentences from flashcard handouts, Exercise 2 adding those phrases to main handout, and exercise 3 ticking the formal phrases. Lastly, the speaking exercise will S groups being given example names and a situation demo on the OH. I will demo the speaking exercise with a stronger student then have the S groups use dialogue to practice speaking and interacting.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
