In this part of book, students are going to read a survey that has shown people often tell lies about their weekend on social media

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I'm going to ask the student to describe their last weekend and how was their feeling about it

Pre-Reading (3-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I'm going to take their attention to the words like interesting and interested or exciting and excited or boring and bored by asking them:" So was your weekend boring? or So did you feel bored"

While-Reading (4-6 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading tasks

I'm going to ask the students to read four tweets and skim the reading and say which two they think are true and why

While-Reading (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading

I'm going to ask the students to read the text again and correct the wrong information on page 34 part C in a group of two and then I'm going to check their answers

Post-Reading (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

The students will be asked to discuss the following questions in groups of 2: What do you usually answer when people ask you "Did you have a good weekend? Is it always true?"
