Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (7-8 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1 Functional language questions in pairs 4 min. Demo. Nominate 1 Ss to share answers. A look at the picture, where are these people? what are they doing?

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Play audio, activity B. Repeat? Check answers together. Ask each S to read the text aloud. Monitor for pronunciation. Fill out chart in pairs. Check answers together. Any problems with vocab?

Clarification (3-4 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Pg. 7 activity 2A. Check answers together. Cover M of we go way back (you have known someone for a long time) idiom. Ask if there are other questions with meaning.

Controlled Practice (1-2 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Semi-Controlled Practice (4-5 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

3A and B and C

Free Practice (8-16 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

4A give Ss the papers with their celebrity and explain the activity. If there is a lot of time left, make them introduce their friends in real life (their name, where they're from, their profession) Use have we met before...I dont think so.

Feedback (2-4 minutes) • Correct pronunciation and accuracy
