Description

in this lesson the students are going to listen to a blog of a lazy person's Guide to a clean and Neat home.

Main Aims

  • To provide detailed listening practice using a text about house cleanıng tips for lazy people. in the context of housework

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of responsibilities and laziness.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

the students will be asked what their responsibilities in housework are and if they like doing them or they are often lazy and unmotivated?

Pre-Listening (8-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

the students will be informed about the meaning of the following vocabularies used in the text, by trying to match the meaning of the word with the vocabularies indivisually. Clean, Neat, Vacuum cleaner, Microwave, dishwasher

While-Listening #1 (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information listening tasks

the students will have a minute to take a look at part b then they will listen to the track and try to guess whats missing in gaps 1-7. then they will listen again and check their answers.

While-Listening #2 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference listening tasks

The students will be asked to read the questions on page 31 part d, then they will listen to the track and answer the following questions: How long should you clean for and how often? What can you do to motivate yourself? What is the right place to keep cleaning products? What happens if you don't know where the product is? How does he recommend cleaning the microwave? Why does he mention flip-flops and tools? What does he suggest you do if people refuse to cooperate? What kind of floor does this work for? What do you need to do when you finish cleaning? What kind of housework is this especially good for?

Post-Listening (5-8 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Students will be asked to talk to each other in groups about if they can think of anyone who would find the lazy person's guide to a clean and neat home usefull? do you have any other tips?
