Description

in this lesson students learn about past perfect. its usage and what it means through ppp and participating in tasks that im going to give them. they will learn through answering personal questions, making a story with group and doing some excercises and formula to use.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of past perfect in the context of train station, before class

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice of past perfect in the context of creative story

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

teacher asks when was the last time you when to a party and what did you do there and when did you leave? students answer the question individualy.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

i write three sentences on the board from one of my students. and i ask them to put happenings in order and then create a whole sentence.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

i talk about the grammer through these sentences. i compare past simple sentences with past perfect sentences and we talk about the formula and why it happens and i show it on timeline. so students find it easier to undrestand. i try to show the order of the happenings in sentences using timeline so they will know in wich order they should use past perfect.

Controlled Practice (6-8 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

i do some practices from book. fill in gap questions im gonna use.

Free Practice (6-8 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

teacher says imagine you are detective and you come to a house. the house was a mess, the window was broken. and asks each student to fgure out what happened before police comes to the crime scene.
