In this listen students will listen to a tape about a girl who went on a vacation and lost something

Materials

Abc AEF2 student book-unit 9A (second conditional)
Abc Audiofile( AEF2 3rd edition- student's book)
Abc Handout

Main Aims

  • To provide detailed listening practice using a text about Martha's story about her travel and what she left in the context of Vacation

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of Vacation

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (1-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The students will be asked if they ever had a experience of losing something during a travel? if yes what was it and did they finally find it?

Pre-Listening (3-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

The students will be informed about the meaning of the following vocabularies used in the text by trying to match the meaning of the word with the vocabularies individually. They will check their answers in pairs and then with the whole class gate, boarding pass, ID card, take a vacation, direct flight

While-Listening #1 (3-5 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

The student will be listen to the tape and try to answer the following questions: when did it happen? What did Martha lose? Did she find it? the answers will be checked with whole class. Students will need to support their ideas if they come up with different answers.

While-Listening #2 (4-6 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

students will be asked to read questions on page 14 part e and then the audio file will be played again.They have 3 minutes to check their answers in pairs and then we will check them with whole class, If a student come up with a different answers they will need to support their ideas.

Post-Listening (4-6 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Students will be asked to talk about have they ever lost aby important thing on their vacation?what was it?what happened?
