Description

In this Reading lesson I will ask the students a lead in question to set the context of the reading and generate interest in the topic. the try to make them predict what's the topic is about ,then teach them the blocking words.Students then skim the text by reading the first and last line to tell the main idea and gic=ve a title .then they read the questions and scan the text to answer the datailed qustions.Then a communicative activity is Givin to the students to discuss in groups some qustions . Then I will give them a feedback on the content and discuss with them the errors to correct .

Main Aims

  • To provide scan and detailed reading practice using a text about laugh in the context of fake laugh, pleased

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a discussion in the context of thousands of people, good laugh, laughter club the effects of laughter.

Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T provides background information to the text by showing a picture of a boy and a monkey are laughing and ask them what do you see ? T elicits : a boy and a monkey laugh T allow the students to relate the topic with their own lives, by asking them to discuss in pairs .

pre-reading (2-4 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

T shows them picture and elicit key words.( stress, nervous, apparently ). T drills the words then writes them on the board explaining the part of speech and how many syllables does the word consist of ?

while reading part 1 (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging skim and specific information reading tasks .

Developed the learner's skill of skimming for understanding the gist . - Rrad the first line and the last line to get the main idea. -SS answer individually Nad check in pairs. - T provides FB.

while reading part 2 (8-10 minutes) • To provide students withe detailed tasks .

- Read the text and answer these qustions :- 1-what do doctors think about laugh ? 2-why should we laugh even if it's fake ? 3-was the auther keen on the idea of laughing?why?and what did he do ?

post-Reading (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expanf on what they've learned.

A communicative activity for the learners to talk about text through discussing some qustions :- work in groups :you are going to make a happines club.Decide on these things :- a) a name for the club . b)number of rooms . c)activities in each room that people can do. d)any other ideas.
