Description

In this lesson , elementary students will learn new vocabularies and learn the days of the week in order in English ,Students can recognize English sounds and spoken words. The lesson begins with greeting and remembering about their last semester. it followed by a video and photo of school objects , I will show flashcards of school objects and ask CCQs individually (Whose bag is this? It's my bag). Students learn days of week and they can recognize the names of the week in Iran vs. The US.I prepared controlled worksheet activity about this lesson. At the end I review alphabet letters.

  • To provide clarification of subject pronouns & the names of the week and How many days are there in the week? in the context of Daily routin
  • To learn school objects and say the names of the week

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation ss with together and share their ideas. in the context of Daily routin

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1. Greeting + describing pictures on TV + Asking Gist question 'p1: What do you see in this picture?/ His name is jack . where is jack? Is he in hospital? No, he isn't. He is at the school. p2:where are they? They are in the class. What are they doing? they're listening to their teacher. where are they setting? They're setting on the chair and behind the table. P3:what ae they doing? they're singing a song. what is he doing? he is playing guitar. p4:jack finds good friend . her name is lucy. they are friends. what is he wearing? he is wearing a white shirt, colorful tie, brown watch. Whose bag is this? It's his bag. Whose teddy bear is this? it's his teddy bear. Are they happy or angry? they are happy. p5;Oh look what's happening? Is he happy or angry? he is angry /Why girls are laughing? P6:Wht's wrong? he is crying. lucy helps jack .They are sad. P7:lucy finds jack's teddy bear. they are happy. P8:What is he doing? he is doing his homework and lucy helps him. whose teddy bear is this? It's jack's teddy bear. They are good friends. 2. Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

1.Pronunciation Drill: Hold up each flashcards of school objects with their names on the board +Repeat with together after that ask individually. 2.Interactive Q&A practice: [Name],whose bag is this?(point to real object or flashcards) [Name] Is your bag? yes It's my bag.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

1. Meaning (concept clarification) + describe the book's pictures *open the book page 4-5 +Ask gist question: what do you see? Who are they? /What's happening? Baz and the class are meeting a new boy. Are they happy?/What are they doing? *Students must write vocabs next to their pictures + check them What's this? Say the difference days of the week between Iran & The USA In Iran the week starts on Saturday and we have holiday on Thursday and on Friday, but in most countries like The USA week starts on Monday not Saturday. they have holiday on Saturday and on Sunday. *When we have holiday? We have holiday on Thursday and Friday - (Week Train craft ) My handicrafts : put it the flog of Iran and put the days of week in Iran ordinary Vs. put the flog of USA and weekday's flashcards then students arrange the days.
