To provide gist and detailed reading practice using a text about any thing that can go wrong will go wrong in the context of Murphy's Law
Subsidiary Aims

To provide speaking practice in a conversation in the context of Murphy's Law
Procedure (35-45 minutes)
In this stage,the students are asked : if you are waiting in a long line at the supermarket and you change to a different line, what will be usually happen? Discuss about Murpy's Law.
The students are going to be tought the meaning of the vocabularies : improvement(n), repetition(n), military plane(n).
In this stage the students are going to read the first two paragraphs of the article. They are going to ask the following questions : who was murphy? what is his "law"?
In this stage the students are going to look at the the eight examples of Murpy's Law in the article and match them to sentences A-H. They will be asked to check in pairs.
The students are asked to to discuss the following question in group work: Do any of these things often happen to you?
