In this lesson,the students are going to listen to a couple who like to have a neat house inspite of hating cleaning.

Main Aims

  • To provide detailed listening practice by using an audio file about a lazy person's guides to a clean house.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of a lazy person's guide to a clean and neat house.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (4-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

In this stage,the students are going to be asked to look at the photo on page 31(the listening part,part a),then they are going to say whether this situation often happen in their house or not.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

The students are going to be taught the following vocabularies,by trying to match the these words with their meanings: Vaccum-Motivate-Refuse-Recommend They will check their answers in pairs and then we will check them with the whole class.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

The students are going to guess with a partner the missing words in some tips given by a lazy person,then they are going to listen to the audio file and check their answers.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

The students will be asked to read the questions on page 31,then the audio file will be played again.the students are going to answer the questions,then they are going to check their answers in pairs,and then we are going to check them with the whole class

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

The students are going to talk about these topics in their groups: Do you know someone who find the "The lazy Persons's Guide to a Clean and Neat Home"useful? Can you mention some other tips?
