To provide detailed and gist listening practice using a text about talking about dreams.
Subsidiary Aims

To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of dreaming.
Procedure (31-42 minutes)
The students will be asked if they think that dreams can tell us things about the future, and if such a thing had happened to them before.
The students will be taught the meaning of the following words: Owl(n), Frightened(adj), Psychoanalyst(n) Then they will be asked to match their meanings with the words individually. The answers will be checked in pairs, and then with the class.
The students will be asked to listen to the file and number the pictures in the order of the events that happened in the patient's dream. the answers will be checked in the class.
The students will be asked to listen to the file one more time and fill the blanks in ex 1c with the verb they hear. The answers will be checked in pairs and in the class.
The students will be asked to do ex 1d and check their answers with a partner. then they will listen to the file in which the doctor interprets the dreams. Each student will compare the actual answers with their own. The students will be asked about what they think the last dream could mean and they will discuss it with the class. Then, they will listen to another file in which the doctor interprets the last part of the dream.
