Description

In this lesson students will learn about present perfect with for and since in a reading about fears they have through PPP .. After this lesson students might better be able to use present perfect and actions that are continuing/ or were done for a specific period of time

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

In this stage I will talk about the things that I did for a specific period of time /thing I've started that are continuing to this day. . I will use some of the present perfect verbs that my students have got familiar with before

Exposure (2-3 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

In this stage I will ask my students to tell the class about things they did for a specific period of time /thing they've started that are continuing to this day about their daily habits

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

In this stage I will write some of the sentences that my students have made in the correct form on the board to draw their attention to the TL.

Clarification (5-7 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language I will clarify the meaning by drawing a timeline on the board and asking some CCQs; I've gone to ballet class FOR 3 yeas Are the sentences about the past, present, or future? past Are the actions finished? Yes DO I do this activity now? No. My brother has lived in Isfahan SINCE he was born. Are the sentences about the past, present, or future? present Are the actions finished? no DO I do this activity now? yes . After that I will elicit the structure from the students to clarify how to form the sentences. The negative and question form are mentioned in this stage. . The rise and fall of intonations are important and need to be worked on

Part c page 73 Controlled Practice To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice. The students are going to do exercise 9C on page 143 in the grammar bank in 4 minutes. They will have 2 minutes to check their answers in pairs and then we will check the answers with the whole class. American English File Student's Book

Free Practice (3-4 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

I will ask my students to talk about their best daily life groups of four and then tell the class about who which activity/habit/fact was most surprising abou ttheir group-mates.
