Procedure (49-68 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (1-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
avpid defence & prepare
Pre-Reading/Listening (4-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible
Reading "Look at this girl. Do you think she is an optimist or a pessimist ?" Then give students time to read the passage in detail.
While-Reading/Listening #1 (12-14 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks
part B "What is defensive pessimism?"
While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-18 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks
Part C, D& E complete the sentences what does these sentences mean what can he do to avoid these problems students should discuss
Post-Reading/Listening (18-20 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
